07/01/07  2am, finished commiting files.  Festive changes reversed.
More work done on new zones by Porcellina Jaakan.
Dani looked at the levels structure and thought about new
mortal levels. Watch this space.
Introduced new classes for take and drop, see help object.
Also persuaded objsys.c to try understanding the words
except and but as relates to take, take from, and drop.
The penalty for dying has been changed, see info DEATH.
Item numbers on MEQ fixed.
Porcellina fixed another email's worth of typos.
Pinkuredi did some work on the Icestorm spell.
Jaakan introduced Icestorm to the MEQ command, a stormy
meeting that neither side liked very much, but all working
now.
Jaakan felt sorry for Fakir so changed a few things.
Jaakan amended the tutorial zone a bit, as it still mentioned
200,000 points and also didn't say anything about storage.
Jaakan put felldwarf back the way it was, but left the
bridge repaired on purpose.
Jaakan added a healing shrine to Rome and changed the reset
code so that the slime doesn't reset on you half way up
the mountain of the Gods.
Jaakan fixed some typos.
Jaakan updated the info index, and revised info CONTACT.
Jaakan moved the bulk of info HISTORY to info ARCHIVE.
Jaakan fixed a bug with the armour scale and updated it
slightly.
Jaakan fixed a problem with the eq command that was causing
occasional mud crashes.
Senzcy helped Jaakan go through a big list of outstanding bugs
to make sense of what still needed fixing.
Fixed a problem with hugmud.
Stopped the icecloak appearing in prophet.zone.
Fixed the default reviews for 7 of the classes - extra the
in the setins.

Jan 1 16:48:38: Paul - top fastest should only include players
that ran to wiz not that got made wiz by powers.
Response: Not aware of any, let me know and it can be sorted.

10/01/07 2am (again). Did some more work on the spell system, required
to be finished before I can reboot again. Nearly done,
hopefully. Not a very productive day as a lot of connection
problems, frustrating. I wanted stuff to be finished.
Fixed a bug in Krull that I can't be more specific about.
BUG IDEA update:
Nov 8 12:30:11: BUG: Porcellina - Twister still kicks you out
of the room, even if it's dead. Zombie twister.
Response: Hmm, some naughty power must've killed it for you
as it's deliberately no hassle - and the twister needs to
be alive. However, point taken, dead twister no longer a
problem.
Dec 24 22:20:28: BUG: Porcellina - the dragon shrieks a defiant
cry, and dies. No comma
Response: I don't really agree, <--- but I've changed the phrasing
to be more in line with the Porcellina-view on commas.
11/01/07 More work on spell.c, also wrote a salvage utility for
inventories, fixed the axe of truth (why it was a club, I
don't know, but it'd be me that did it. Added a synonym
for something in the samurai quest.
BUG IDEA update:
Nov 8 22:54:13: BUG: Pringle - I can STILL see the room name and
location of deathrooms/deathtraps in places I don't have access
to (see humour syslog).
Response:
Long standing problem, but framework has been added to cure
it, but it'll take a while to add all dtraps to it.
16/01/07 2am (again). Working on locker code. Several things
reach completed status; testing needed. Looked at angel
review and decided that they should be lit like wisps.
18/01/07 11pm committed several pieces of code, news to be
updated about them when I reboot them in. Fixed a bug with
Mabuto quest noticed by Paul.

It does/did. So any suspicion of fake-quittery about them on
your part is merely paranoia and is not a cause for concern. :)

It didn't do much for me, either, until I checked the code.
To quote someone else, "It's not a bug, it's a feature."
If you really want to type @@V then use @@@@V, that works.
@@V gives the version number; I think we ought to move on
from 0.9B...
19/01/07 10am. Have rebooted the new code in.
Changes include:
The new EQ command.
Autoequip (can only be used in locker.zone).
Autoeat (been in a while but not officially).
Multiple spell system revamp.
A change to the way deathtraps are handled.
A slight change to the dark gods.
Icestorm spell messages updated and coloured by Pinkuredi.
Many typo fixes by Porcellina.
Item numbers bug is fixed.
Fixed a bug with Autoequip.
Added a top dtrappers scoreboard.
I've probably missed something out, if so, I'll add it later.

Nov 28 21:00:39: BUG: Dale - fakequit should tell me when
metawizard's quit is a fakequit
I have now been able to duplicate this bug. Not yet fixed.
20/01/07 1am. A number of bugs fixed. Two crashbugs removed from
multiple spell system. Modified salvage command slightly,
At request of Sovereign modified Tornado slightly so you
can tell if your item is depleted. Also fixed a typo in
wear and added itemnumbers to the message that tells you
that you can't wear two items at the same time.
24/01/07 12noon. After quite a bit of work, have modified the
inventory command, see INVMODE for more details.
Fixed a bug reported by Pinkuredi and also a couple of
others to do with containers. Suspect that the fix will
break other stuff :(
07/02/07 9am. Thought it time to give a bit of an update on what's
happening with the MUD, as there have been no updates/bug
fixes for nearly two weeks.

29/03/07 10pm. Deathroom buyback has now been introduced,
if you lose your equipment as a mortal in a deathroom,
your equipment will now be transferred to the second hand
shops in Commerce Street. See INFO death for more details.
Roulette finished, Sovereign already has lost all his
money so I'm considering it a success.
There should now be very very few illogical exits to rooms.
the only exceptions being special zones, like wizard, or powers.

01/04/07 18.45pm An idea that I've been avoiding for a while was a
change to the way that hourkills works. It's unlike me to
start an idea and keep working it through all the way until
finished, without moving to something else, but surprisingly,
that's exactly what has happened with this. Help files
written, tested personally.
Some bugs fixed: mobiles were not attacking in line with
their aggression, traced to new archery code.
Change Hourkills (for powers) was crashing the MUD, fixed.
02/04/07 23:51 Lynda wanted think as a verb like say, done.
Fixed the annoying extra space on the say feedback.
Fixed an oversight about cloned objects that was causing
inventories to disappear. Wrote helpfile for think.
Fixed the lack of a "No items for sale" message in the
new shops (thanks dale).

It's not a wolf you'd normally butcher, but one in fierykings.
Response: This was debug information for a problem with
butcher, for mobiles that can be used to obtain food.
the problem is now fixed. Expect the list of mobiles
that you can butcher to widen as more are added. However
the wolf in FieryKings is a dust wolf, and I wouldn't
normally recommend eating it.
13/04/07 16:00 Yet more work on sewer.zone today by Jess. Many
rooms needed fleshing out.
Bug with deafen, blind, dumb, cripple fixed.
Added BUY ALL.
Added two new flags for objects.
Fixed typos in Evil.
Reduced price of class equipment due to close proximity
to shops.
Changed price of equipment for re-entrant players in
pawn-shops to 10% instead of 25%. Extended time to 15
minutes before scrapping.
Fixed a bug with deathtrap visibility.
Added two new tools for helping write zones more
quickly (powers only).
Updated 7DOF Zonewriting and format guide to reflect
current mobile, object, and location structure.
Apr 13 09:03:27: BUG: Armado - The twister doesn't seem to
be working.
Response: Fixed.
Apr 12 06:26:15: BUG: Armado - The Pawn Shop: I picked up
items saved there after I droomed. It was still being
announced that items were for sale. When time was up,
all of the items disappeared from my inventory.
Response: Oops! Sorry. However, the clue is in how you
got hold of the items. Because you picked them up,
the shopkeeper still considered them his to scrap.
I've made it so you can only BUY things.
15/04/07 23:40 Completely redesigned the clone-checking code
and removed old code and all references to it.
Also added SELL ALL.
This should mean that cloned Icons and Ultimastones work
properly.
17/04/07 16:30 More work on sewer zone by Porcellina (primarily)
and Jaakan. Jaakan spent an instructive afternoon trying
to get QDONE for the pit quest and the reset code for
thepit to play nicely together. Also compiled INFO
COMBAT at Thalia's request.

Response: this is because items flagged 'destroyed' are
invisible to mortals. Possibly someone was trying to
help you out but didn't realise that the item was
destroyed. I could make destroyed items invisible to
anyone below archwizard level but taking information
away from people unnecessarily is bad. Not really a bug.

some decisive battle, to read "You smile as the first
snowflakes fall..."
Response: Agreed, however, most generals would like to
know the weather conditions on the battlefield. Since
the weather will have an effect on archery, it cannot
be summarily ignored during combat. The wording of
some of the weather reports has been changed, though.
One of my pet hates is zones or rooms that tell me
how I'm feeling. Maybe I don't like snow.

the opening of the trapdoor in the pit, a bug with the shop
lists, all fixed. Sewer zone finished bar playtesting and

resetting. Seems to be no armour in it, and reads 'In Prog"
Response: It was resetting, but qdone wasn't. I've made
qdone more accurate for the class quests.

30/04/07 Final additions to sewer.zone before moving to main mud. Changes to
ThePit quest. Two further crashbugs found in clone code, eradicated.
Made NOMISS ignore "totally cushioned" or "totally absorbed" hits.
Fixed a bug with MEQ that meant under certain rare circumstances it
wasn't reporting cloned objects that had magical properties.
Haven't really addressed any specific bug reports today, but I think
that the look through bug may well be gone due to changes in clone,
and also the intermittent shop bug. Here's hoping.

ancient - mobiles shouldn't steal wielded weapons, but there's a
line further down in the code that says if any weapon is stolen,
assume the player doesn't have one any more. Which is clearly
pants, and probably from back when weapons were a lot more
scarce. Fixed.

Response: I _think_ I've fixed it, but can't be 100% sure. Player
slots were not being set to group -1 (not in a group) on login.
I'm guessing that the first available group was 0. And that's what
your group probably was.
04/05/07 Made a small change to lackhand, (thanks Thalia). Fixed mana
objects for the where spell so that they actually allow you to cast
where and gave aid objects their own mana.
08/05/07 A lot of work done on introducing a new level structure to the
mud. Work virtually stopped on bug fixing while this was set up
although did fix an annoying fireballs with everything bug. Fixed
some typos in Rome and ended up indenting the whole zone to the
standard 3 spaces in, and removing some annoying "You stand" room
description starts. Tried to get the clone system to clone an
object properly with little success at first, until I understood
(with a bit of help from Dale) what was going wrong.
Added the BURGER command.
Fixed a typo in class.zone
Changed the LEVELS command, and added the WIZLEVELS command.
Added OFFERALL.
09/05/07 Fixing Bugs. Fixed a bug with fireball that I thought I'd already
fixed. Altered the tangle tree. The look through bug surfaced
again, grr. Fixed alignment on review, also on scorecom,
fixed the damage spell. Wizlist was broken, fixed.

I decided to do a revamp of QDONE and ended up completely

Along the way I corrected some typos, and also ran one or two
quests for the first time. Thanks to Porcellina, Mirror,
Lynda, and Thalia for help in testing. This doesn't mean it's
bug free, unfortunately. This is a massive change, so there
are likely to be some teething troubles. Please bear with me
while I sort them out (whatever they turn out to be).
Senzcy started work on a new quest, specials are starting to
be coded for it.
Porcellina's computer blew up at an inopportune moment but
she got it fixed in time to play the latest tower defence
